I have a laptop that I thought was POP protected so I pulled the CMOS battery, In doing this the supervisor Password set to the hard drive. If i buy a new hard drive can i put it in and have it work?
I have pulled the battery once before a long time ago and when i did it asked for the SVP cuz the date and time was changed. So i turned it off. I turned it on a couple days later and it went to the HD pssword screen, without stating that the time was wrong and trying to goto bios. So if it is going pass the post screen to HD lock needed, would it be able to run on a newer unlocked hard drive? Without needing a password?
Thanks
P.s.Hey Victor or Bob, have you delt with any Solid State Sata Hdd's? That have Hdp set? |

1. Remove the HDD. Is it asking for the SVP afterwards?
2. I know you say about SSD but what exaclty is the TP model? X300, 301?
3. Yes, we have dealt with them, apart from the interfacing, they are ATA compliant as any other drive, well the major part of them. _________________ Victor Voinea
