Hello,
My TP R500 is running on the Supervisor password and of course I don't know it!
So I decide to experiment the reading of the eeprom containing the password.
I unsoldered the chip (NXP 24S08) and use the simple-i2cprog.
I supply the eeprom connect it to serial port and read it with 24R08.exe.
I decode the dump file with IBMpass2.2 and read the password on 0x338 line.

If I undersatand the password is 6NFOGf or 6NF0Gf.

But these 2 passwords don’t work!

would you help me to understand!

Thank you

(I would like to post the dump file or a picture but I don't know how to do)

Dump files contain information specific to your laptop, do not post them here becasue some fu-man-chu guys may take them and your laptop identity would be stollen.

You may email the files to support-at-allservice.ro to have us inspect them.

BTW, solder the chip back to the motherboard, there's no need to remove it if you use R24RF08 correctly.

Hello bob,

Thanks for answer me

I unsoldered the eeprom because I totaly disassemble my laptop and I won't see how to supply the motherboard. And more the chip is hiden under black paste under the express card slot.

But the procedure you give run on!

So I will send you my dump file by e-mail.

Regards

Bobbyjoe
