Lenovo 3000 N500 has a clear pad named CLRP1* located under the WLAN card. Remove all power (AC and main battery) then remove the card, apply a shortcircuit on the CLRP1 using tweezers, put all back and that's it.

*Courtesy M. Dahn (Germany) who first found the clearpads while working on a N500 and informed us at that time.

Victor's solution in the preceding message works also on Lenova 3000 N200 (0769-AHU). The clear pad is labeled CLRP1. It is located at the far right side of the hard drive/wifi card bay, between an eeprom and a screw hole. The wifi card does not cover it. The CLRP1 pad is only ±1mm across. I had to use a magnifying glass, and cleared it with small, square-ended alligator pliars. It was hard for me to know when I had the tool square and touching both contacts at once, so I moved the pliars around a little, and kept them on the pad for about 10 seconds. This worked for both the User and Supervisor passwords.

Easy, Victor. I haven't received the hdd yet, so the bay is open:

Bottom of Lenovo 3000 N200. HDD/wifi card bay is at at lower left of case. Red circle shows location of CLRP1 in bay.

A closer look at the wifi card bay, with red circle and a straight, red line running to CLRP1. The CLRP1 is bright copper, and in the shape of a tongue and groove joint. It looks dull here because of shadow.

A fuzzy closeup of the CLRP1 It's inside the red circle with a straight red line running to it (I apologize for my weak photography skills.)

Does anyone know if this will work on the Lenovo 3000 G530 series?
