!! First of all, thank you all very much for fantastic solutions for TP password problems !!

Don't want to trouble you with detailed story, but can't resist:

When I lost the BIOS password of my TP, it was really difficult situation. Couldn't use the machine for more than 6 months. Removed hard disk, copied data etc.

Recently, while browsing, found a very intersting post on [removed] website. According to the post, soldered the hardware, created the dump, and read the password via IBMpass 2.1 Lite utility. Great experience by itself

The most unfortunate part : The password didn't work

The readme.pdf file available with the package says : switch to alternate scancodes to find it.

How do I do it? Please guide.

Found alternate scancodes from the dropdown menu. New password was revealed. It also didn't work

Hello,

IBMpass should reveal 390X password right away, if the dump is valid.
If you email the file to support_at_allservice.ro, we'll give you a hint..

The application was run two times. I shall mail both the dumps to the id given.

I am sorry, the lite edition of IBMpass does not have multilanguage support. IBMpass Editor will be avialable soon.

Just a small question, how did you make out that the keyboard is French

We use IBMpass pro that has support to show the scancodes for FR and DE keyboards. Simply switching the scancode mode by the aid of a button shows the right password.

As I mentioned IBMpass Editor has this option as well. It was available already for some registered PC8394 tools users and now we plan to publish it.
