Hello everyone!
Firstly thanks for your guide!
I have a problem with my T500 that hasn't been solved: At first I could boot the machine to an OS but could not do any advanced changes in the bios.
After calling Lenovo support they advised me to remove the time-date battery and insert it again. After this it completely locked up. Previously I saw in the bios that the supervisor password was set but encryption was disabled. All other passwords were disabled as well.

Now with your guide I assembled this reader and read succesfully the chip. After analyzing with ibmpass I see only zero's at 0x330.

Is it required to enter the bios so that the password will show up?

What to do with completely locked-up machines, i.e. not be able to enter the bios, can their passwords be read as well?

I used besides the zeners 1W resistors; is it better to use 0,5 W or 0,25 W resistors?

Hello,

If passphrase was disabled IBMpass should give you the right password unless SVP was not set or the dump is incorrect.

Can I see the dump? support-at-allservice.ro

Resistor's power has no importance for this circuit. Is only a matter of size, choose the right size/shape for your own setup.

Just sent you an email with the dumpfile. Hope you can shed some light on it.
Meanwhile I will check and try to reassemble the reader.

The dump is perfect, forget about the reader.

In IBMpass, goto 0x330 line, then click the A_Abutton (under File menu) to get the transation mode activated. And the beers are on you Very Happy .
