Hi Victor, i have this Vaio VPCEB33FX with one-time password and i have edited the eeproms to no avail. There are two EEPROMs and two SPIs.When i take out both eeproms the machine still asks for a password. When i take out MX25L3206E the machine comes on but nothing shows on the screen. When i take out 25X10VBN1G the machine does not come at all.I suspect this machine's security might be similar to toshiba challenge/response.i have attached all eeprom dumps and want to know if there is a way out of this.Any help will be appreciate.

Hi,
I took a look at the dumps. The 4Mb one is the BIOS flash, then the KBC firmware by Insyde and the two 24C02 legacy eeproms.
The one with the pass must be 24LC02.bin but the first 16 bytes where the 2 passwords are located conatin only 00 - I have seen this on other VAIO's lately.
Can you contact me by email, I would like you to run a few tests. Address is support-at-allservice.ro _________________ Victor Voinea

On those new notebooks with Insyde BIOS the password is not stored in the first 16 bytes anymore. Instead it is written inside the main BIOS (4Mb Dump) now. |
