this seems to be a common problem in this model, the unit will post if left unplugged and no battery for about a week. the fan spins fast and slow, and never posts.

I've swapped every picec of hardware in the unit I can, including ac adapter, drives, ram, no perpherals etc.

anyone have any technical repair tips (surface mount motherboard parts to check)?
