I would love to get some help from you too. You seem to know what you are doing and I certainly do not. I have the exact same problem with my HDD disk on my Acer Aspire V5-315. My Key Number is: 3187E0BC.

I get 8d60f17f hint.... Can you please help me with the password, on friday i have a test and i am dead without my laptop! Please help

I wouldn't expect it to work 100% either.

Well, then have someone reading the BIOS chip in a programmer and contact support@allservice.ro to get it unlocked for a fee.

i have in my possession an acer aspire 5532 with a passworded harddrive and just want to wipe the password off of it. i did the incorrect 3 times get the 8 digit code and mine is 68423937 any help is good help

On the order form to get your code it states that your HDD code will be on your paypal invoice. Mine was not only says for acer pass code 1x. It's been 5 hours. I have emailed supported even posted on here, but I haven't got any replies from anyone. Right now I've started at 500 trying to figure out the last 3 digits myself. I've waited so long and read much stuff and watched so many YouTube videos. I'm anxious to get this issue solved. I'm so sone with researching it. Thank you for any help.

Hi,

Let me start by saying I don't need my HDD unlocked, quite the opposite -
I'd like to lock the HDD on my Aspire 5920G. However, the actual HDD password set to the drive is not the same as I've entered it. Does anyone know the algorithm?

I.e. if I set the password to 'aaaaaaaa', what is the actual HDD pass?

I would like to know this for two reasons:

1. If the stupid thing dies and I know the password, it doesn't help me since that is not the actual password the drive is locked by.

2. I'd like to set the password with hdparm outside the laptop and set the security to maximum so that the evil Acer bios does not get a chance to remember the password/install a backdoor. Hopefully it only does that when setting a new password and not every time the password is entered to unlock the drive.

Can you help?
