Ok , I have been reading for hours now. The other day i built the reader to extract the password and have had success in doing so. I got all excited,opened IBMpass 2.1 lite and to my dissapointment the password did not make sense. this is what i get at both location 0x338 and 0x340 (?QaY?cn?) without the brackets. Can anyone confirm my newly acquired knowledge

1- The passphrase is on and activated
2- The EEProm needs to be re-written
3- I will have to acquire a license for W24rf08
4- I will have to acquire a TCPA reset service
5- Is this programming done through the same "simple-i2cprog" reader

Yes, I can confirm all 5 are true.

1. Download and install W24RF08 from www.allservice.ro/store/utils/ (on same PC used with reader is preferable)

2. Fill out the registration form (register.doc that is in the kit) with payment details and hardware ID generated by the program and email it to us. PayPal account is support-at-allservice.ro (replace -at- accordingly)

3. We will email you the activation keys along with the patched binary dump (we need the original dump(s) to be patched) and the laptop will be unlocked in minutes.

Update,

As per Victor's reply, the answer to all my question was "yes".

I downloaded and installed W24RF08, filled out the registration form, sent in a money order, and in a very short and fast reply, I received an email with the activation keys along with the patched binary dump. The laptop was unlocked in minutes. Honestly I had my doubts, but i am truly impressed by the service and speed that they replied to my emails.
