Hi all, I know this may be off topic, but it does somehow relate to eeprom reading and programming.

I occasionally like to "try" and I do use that term loosely - to repair laptop motherboards.
My biggest problem is paying someone several hundred dollars to repair a SMT resistor or capacitor, simply because I don't know where to look for the source of a problem.

I had a Thinkpad t20 motherboard that would not power on, yet the fan cycled fast and slow. I successfully repaired it, because I found a inductor that had no solder connecton, and was simply held on by old solder flux. I found it by accident, but looked at that location because of some other posts on the net.

is there anyone here that can help with some links, or information to help troubleshoot these types of problems?
methods of troubleshooting etc.

I don't mean novice type of help, I think I'm a little better than that Smile
