Hello,
I am a locked TP x301 (presumably with SVP) and I was browsing through the forums for more information.
First of all, I would need an interface. I can either build the interface myself using a provided diagram (where can i get this diagram? do i have to pay for it?) or buy a ready made interface for $45 (link?).
Does the $45 includes shipping fees?
Secondly, can the unlocking be done with zero soldering? (Like taping the contacts over the chip)
Thirdly, are the help files visually descriptive and detailed in order for a newbie to perform the unlock?

A: The diagrams are included in R24RF08 eeprom reader kit, you may download the program from www.allservice.ro/store/utils/
The program and schematics are free.
If you want to order the ready made driven interface just send the payment to support_at_allservice.ro via PayPal, then fill out this document here and email it to the same email address.

A: Yes, you may use 2 probes or needles for SDA and SCL pins

A: Sorry, but no. There are so many models I couldn't do it for each one in this life. There is a general tutorial here
You can also find the hardware maintenance manual for your X301 here, it will help you with the dismantling process. See removing.replacing FRU section. Basicaly you have to remove the keyboard and some bezels to acccess the eeprom.
