I have 2 lenovo thinkpad models, i get these machines as x department of education and training machines, they run fine, and do the job, i have to install windows on the hard drive on some other laptop and than put it in the laptop to install windows, as the supervisor password is on them, at first i was thinking reset the cmos battery to remove the password and later found out that i cant do that
I have a x130e and a x100e
Both save to the eeprom i am told, i was talking to a guy from Australia who says i wouldn't be able to get the password off by the reader due to the fact that the newer machines would be encrypted, is this true?
im sure all the bios passwords on this machines would be the same, so i only need to build the reader for one and get the password off
i went to jaycar today and got the stuff for a basic reader, since i have laptops and no serial ports i also ordered a serial to usb converter , got some wire and a project box to make it nice and tidy, will this work if i use the resisters and zener diodes , i no how to solder and everything, i had a look at the way its all hooked up, and im confused dose anyone have a photo of this wired up clear, so someone who dose not have the most experience in this field don't stuff it up, i don't get the diagrams 100% and unsure if it will get the password for any of my systems
any help would be good, otherwise im going to try to pawn the machines off on ebay for $50 each without the ram and hard drive, i own a small company company in Newcastle, australia |
