Hi,
I encountered a very strange question about IBM A31's lcd.
although I cracked of the bios password, the a31 lcd is always dark. At first, I thought maybe the invertor or video cable gone bad. What I should do is buying some good invertor and video cable for lcd because I have tested the lcd lp150x2 c2 is working very well in another laptop.
But all of my work did not solve the question. I used an external monitor to connect this laptop, it works but the lcd itself is black screen after I change the invertor and the lcd video cable. What is the problem? Shall I need to change the whole mother bodard? I enter bios and adjust the settings about the lcd but failed.
I tried my hard to find some possible solution for this strange question. And I found some people who have the almost same condition with mine. The following is the http link:

I think the strange question has some realationship with the power or the bad connection of the cable of lcd. But it is impossible that so many people have same bad connections.

Do you encountered this kind question with you thinkpad. How did solve this problems? you can send emails to me(zhouzhou6688@hotmail.com) or leave message here.

Thanks for your replay first.

Well, if the inverter is working in another machine then is a power problem or connection problem.
Check the LVDS connector to see if you have power on it. Also check the inverter cable&connector to see if you have the main power 12-16V.
I can tell you that in 90% of cases, one of the mobo fuses is to blame. Maybe you touched the PCB in that area.

Hi ,
I found there were 2 fuses become disconnected in the motherboard.
But I do not know where to buy this kind very little fuse. By the way, yesterday my boy throw some mental tools on the mobo when the board was working. Now the mother board did not power on.
I think the main fuse maybe did not work. Where to locate the main fuse?
Where to buy the very little fuse and capacitors?
Do you have some good suggestion?
