As I am new to this forum, I didn't know if this warrants a new thread, if not please move it and accept my apologies.
I was happy to see that you have writtten the software to unlock the T43, but before I can pay $ 170.00 I would like to know what is involved in the process.
What hardware is required
Where is the chip located
Is the chip easy to get at
Is any other software needed, ie IBMpass.
Does it retrieve the pass or just clear it
Are full instructions included with the software.
If the HD pass is the same as the supervisor pass, will both be unlocked
Has anyone else tried it out yet
And any other information you have. |

All the info are included in software kit.
1. The interface schematic is included in the kit.
2. No need to dismantle the thinkpad to read the chip, the connection points with pictures and everything included in the kit
3. The same
4. Yes, IBMpass 2.0 lite will do the job.
5. It does retrieve the pass. Anyway, if passphrase is enabled, the pass is encrypted with RSA-SHA1 and the chip must be reprogrammed. .
6. Yes.
7. Yes.
8. Yes.
We just do the support job here, for all commercial and licensing issues or other questions you may have, feel free to email us to support-at-allservice.ro.
Thanks |

Victor "AllServices",
Back on June 20th 2006, you had a very nice response to Englander. I want to express my appreciation to your efforts in making this possible.
I'm in the same boat with my T43. My question is related to item # 5 that talks about reprogramming the chip in case the passphrase is enabled.
How would some go about doing this specially for those who never done this before?
Also, in your kit, do you include the actual circuit or just the schematics?
thank you for your time |

Using "passphrase", the password is encrypted with a SHA1 variant, thus it cannot be retreived. The PC8394T's TPM ROM must be reprogrammed with a modified content.
The kit contains only the software, interface schematic and manual with instructions for T43 and R52.
The interface is based on max232 driver and is really easy to build.
If any of our customers choose to buy a ready made one, then no problem at all, the interfaces are available.
In rest, the software is really easy to use. And no need to dismantle the locked laptops, to get the TPM chip connected.
Cheers. |

As I said, for whatever you want to know send an email.
Licensing, pricing, etc. are not discussed in the forum.
Thanks |
