hi victor & everyone,
I sucessfully removed the password from a t42 using the siprog circuit and all was well.
I was delighted to be able to use my laptop once more and as the laptop is a popular model, i eventually sold it to a good friend.
to my horror he informed me recently that is has cased to operate and instead gives a memory error beep code [1 beep, followed by 3, followed by 1 again]
i played around using different memory and concluded it was unable to access the memory for whatever reason. [genius!]
my friend took the ibm to our local laptop wizard and he has gone thru the motions, tested for dry joints... poked around... and so far has been unable to fix it.
heeelp! is there anything we know about the siprog password removal process that might cause this?
thanks for your input, limb0 |

So, you used SIPROG to unlock the laptop as well as a lot of people out there.
I don't see how this can be the cause of your problems since the laptop worked fine before and after.
Are you sure your friend didn't tried to play around with some extra memory?
If the memory stick(s) is good then could be the board, but anyway this can be repaired, it's just a matter of costs. |
