Hello,

I forgot my supervisor bios password on my T61p.
The problem: I am really bad at soldering and all that stuff. Also, I don't have any Serial/COM1 Port on my other computer.

1. Is there any complete interface with micrograbbers etc. that I could buy, from you or someone else?

2. What do you think of using USB to I2C adapters instead like this: h[removed]
Do they work with R24RF08 and IBMpass? If yes, how can I make it work?

Thanks for your help.

Hello,

No, those cheap USB 2 RS232 will not work. You msut use a PCIx COM port, or ExpressCard, PCCard, etc.

But we sell our driven interfaces sicne the begining and they are listed for $35+$10 shipping.
Here is the order form http://www.allservice.ro/forum/dl/order-i.doc

We accept PayPal. See the above document for payment details.

Regards

Also Theophilix, you shouldn't have do any soldering on the locked laptop. You can just solder your interface wires to mid-size sewing needles, and jab a sewing needle tip on each chip leg during reads and writes. I simply hold one needle in each hand and jab away, with an assistant operating the technician PC. Look through the [Practice] Making it work thread, or search for sewing needles and wade through a lot of posts. Lots of good stuff in those posts, but takes time to go through them.
