Hi, I have three X201's with svp locked bios. These don't have Atmel 24fr08 bios chips. These have MX25L6445E chips. I have no problem to read the hex dump, but I really can't find MPV with Ibmpass. Is there any easy solution, or should I just throw these machines to a dumpster?

Hello,

Ah, but they have the equivalent of the 24RF08. Take a look here

Hmm.. I still don't get this. 24fr08 is eeprom and that mx chip is spi-flash rom. Or so do I miss something? Not really equivalen, even different package.

Dear Muiutsu,

The eeprom you see there is the same 24RF08, doesn't matter what package is it. You have to follow the tutorial above here and read that eeprom.

Of course, 24RF08 is an I2C eeprom and more importantly, is not the BIOS. Therefore is not a SPI flash so the password is not in the BIOS but in the eeprom.
