Thinkpad 600 can't find EPROM chip please help

i there to everyone, i acidentaly found this forum and let me say IT'S GREAT
i have at home a thinkpad 600 with the 173 163 error the 161 is gone since i switched de backup batery, but i forgote the supervisor pass, so when i found this great forum i started to dismantle my thinkpad so that i could solder the wires to the eprom but found one problem, don't know where the eprom chip his, if anyone could help me, posting some pics where it is i would realy be very thankful.

600 is using 24c01 that is a classic eeprom.

I have in progress a small aplication to help a forum user that has problems reading his Thinkpad's 24c01. I will post it here when I'll finish it, in a cuple of days.

By the way Victor i canīt make the driven-i2prog cause in my country (portugal) i canīt find the max 232 for sale anyware so i have to stick to the simple-i2 so what i would like to know to is.
is it realy neacessary to unsoulder the chip in order to work with the simple-i2 ?
sorry i'm being such a pain in the a*** but this is mi first time working with electronics

TP 600 has a low SMbus impedance, but you can try the SIPROG. Anyway SIPROG works perfect with the 24c01, only that some laptops use pull-up resistors that have smaller values.

I can't understand why you can't find the Max232 in Portugal, in my neighbourhood are 3 shops in 2 Km area that sell them.

i think i finaly found a shop that has the Max232 i'm going there today and buy every thing i need, when i have it all i will let you know cuse i'm going to need your help Embarassed
