hello, Do I need to purchase the w24rf08 software to remove this error? If so will I be provided with a clean eeprom dump? Or does the software just clean the eeprom? my error is "rfid serialization or bad crc2 error". It is on a t20 that I purchased, I might mention that I have had great success with getting the password on numerous other laptops, although some t20's I had to remove the chip and read, but others I was able to read from password prompt. Great work victor and many thanks.
Edit: After browsing forum I have read that allservice will repair the eeprom dump, alright, herers another problem,
If I use another 24rf08 chip and boot laptop to errors then remove and read eeporm will you guys be able to fix it? I have the original 24rfo8 chip so maybe I should read that chip instead? My point is, Im wondering if it is possible to replace the chip, will the checksum values be re-written to new chip so you guys can decipher and fix new chip? Both the old and new chip give the same rfid serialization or bad crc2 error. So to me it makes no difference which one I use, I just want one to work. Another question is if I read the eeprom from one laptop that has good eeprom and put it on another machine that is the exact same type will it work? Is it possible to get one t-20 eeprom to work on another t-20 that is a different type? In your experience has any eeproms been interchangeable between different laptops of same model?
Also wanted to mention I have quite a few thinkpads so if anyone needs a good eeprom I may be able to help. I have saved a couple, but with the great software and hardware design's offered hear for free, I would be more than happy to help out other's. |

Hi,
I would say to read the original eeprom and purchase the writer license. This is all you need to do, we will repair the eeprom dump(if is not screwed).
T20 dumps works only on T20 and the chances are 50% that a dump from a T20 to work in another T20. |
