Mai folositi DOS? Probabil ca cei care mai programeaza aplicatii in Turbo Pascal sau C vor raspunde afirmativ. Daca doriti sa aveti posibilitatea de a boota PC in DOS avand in acelasi timp Windows XP procedati astfel:
-Partitionati HDD astel incat prima partitie sa fie FAT32. O formatati cu parametrul /s dupa ce in prealabil ati pornit calculatorul cu o discheta de start Win98, sau cu comanda SYS.
-instalati Win XP in aceasi partitie. La repornire va apare mesajul generat de ntldr prin care va cere sa specificati modul de bootare.

Daca aveti deja instalat WinXp si aveti prima partitie FAT(32), atunci porniti calculatorul cu o discheta de start Win98, creati partitia ca system DOS cu comanda SYS. Reporniti PC-ul cu CD-ul Win XP si intrati in Recovery Console, unde lansati FIXBOOT apoi restartati.

Nota. Daca aveti prima partitie NTFS atunci va trebui sa repartitionati FAT32 si sa procedati ca in primul caz. Puteti folosi Partition Magic (utilitarele DOS) pt a converti NTFS>FAT32.
