I have successfully built and used the eeprom reader for thinkpads, from your excellent instructions. I am now looking at a Toshiba Satellite 5105, which has a supervisor password set on the BIOS (not power on) You can only get to the bios via a windows application, which is not really a problem. I understand it is possible to get a USB dongle which clears the password at startup, but the cost is $200 US. Do you have any info on how how to build the USB device or what type of eeprom the password is stored on and how to access it?
Thanks much for your excellent forum |

For 5105? No, this can be done using an USB dongle. I have one laying around here, it has a small bridge and two leds. There are a lot on ebay, just be carefull there are a lot of crooks as well. |
