|
|
Hi, first of all I'd like to thank allservice for this excellent forum, which i've found immensely helpful. Recently I decided to dismantle my Thinkpad R31 to finally remove that pesky supervisor password. With the service manual in front of me and the allservice tutorial I was all set.
However, after looking everywhere for the 24RF08 chip and not finding it, I happened upon the ATMEL 93C46! I was under the impression that all R31's had the 24RF08. Is it possible for a board to have both chips?
So now I'm a bit confused. Do I go through the procedure with the 93C46 chip (unsolder, etc.) as I would with a 700 series TP? Or am I just blind and I haven't found the right chip...
Thanks in advance! |

Ah, thank you! You can't imagine how long i was searching around with a magnifying glass and flashlight. A picture is worth a thousand words. Thanks again. |
