Hi
I've been reading your posts with great interest. I am about to send off for the package for the t43. In your instructions you say that the t43 does not need to be dismantled. How is the chip connected to the interface wires?

For T43, only the memory cover should be removed.

Hi Victor
Thanks for that. I have located the chip on my t42 underneath the mouse pad. I was a little bit daunted by the fact that it is sooo small!
I have purchased 2 diferent soldering irons, one is battery operated and the other is a 12watt. I have now ordered a small temperature controlled one having seen the chip. Can you give me advice as to how hot the iron should be as a maximum and any tips on how to avoid overheating the chip? I've done a fair bit of soldering in my time but never as small as this! Also, I have created a dongle with the electronics in it. The two wires for the chip are connected to it via an RCA plug and socket and the ground wire is permanently wired in. ( pic: http://freehost04.websamba.com/DRMADGWICK/page69.html ) Is it ok to have the ground wire connected before the client pc is switched on or does it have to be connected at the same time as the other two wires?

You can wire the GND "permanently". BTW, the idea of soldering is a little obsolete. I personaly use probes and the best probes that we tested are made by tiny needles. Here is an example:
