I have a T40 that will just beep unless I put in the security chip board. But the security chip board is from another unit so I get the tamper error. Is there anyway to use this laptop without the chip or a way to sync the chip to the board so that the tamper error goes away. would like to give this computer to my daughter. |

Yes, there is a way, you need a BIOS code from a non TCPA T40 board to flash into.
Of course, there are some minor issues with the network but nothing too serious.
And please, don't ask us the virgin BIOS code cause we can't give it to you, legally.
Luckily, one of our friends there could help you. PM to TP-guy, he runs a workshop somewhere in NC, actually. _________________ Victor Voinea
