Dear ALLservice,
I need to reset my thinkpad's passwords.
I own a T43 type 1871 and I read that I need to buy a RPC8394 reader.
I found the chip inside the notebook. But I was wondering.. after buying your reader to dump the chip what is the procedure I have to follow for dumping? I mean do I have to use another PC connected to my notebook via serial? Could you be so kind to explain to me the things I need (reader apart).
Thanks 4 your time.
Regards Dan. |

Yes, you have to use the software along with a hardware interface to read the TPM area of the chip that contains the SVP. After that, you may use IBMpass 2.1 (one of our free software) to reveal the password from the chip dump.
The software kit includes the usaer manual and diagram for the device you need to build. Also you may buy ready interfaces from us, if you want.
The only mention is that full software kit is required in case the password is encrypted with TCPA (passphrase).
