I have an R30 Thinkpad and want to know where the security chip is located. Does anyone know if there is a location that has this information.
Thanks |

R30 is having an 8 pin 24RF08, close to one of the SO-DIMM sockets, on the back of the mainboard. So, you have to partially dismantle the TP... _________________ Victor Voinea

Thanks Victor I found it.
After running the program and re-soldering about 10 times I keep getting circuit not found or bus error. When running program on regular computer with XP and using command prompt does it know to look for the circuit on the serial port? If not how do I direct it to go there? I am running it from the c:\allservice\24rf08\r24rf08 mytp2.bin /x/d/i
As I have read in a forum you say do not use the battery pack unless chip is not soldered. Is that correct? |

I assume you have the driven interface., so put spaces between /x, /d and /i
