Everything's explained here:
http://www.allservice.ro/forum/admin/index.php?sid=48422c41ee49756393aec2472c75e1ce
1. Build the driven programmer. (you may purchase a ready made one from us, if needed).
2. Dismantle the laptop, the eeprom is on the backside.
3. Use R24RF08 to read the eeprom, then open it in IBMpass, click the AA button (activate translation) to reveal the password.
4a. Type that at the password prompt and that's it. Or
4b. If the password looks strange, then is passphrased (TCPA). In that case you'd need our W24RF08+TPCA reset service, I hope won't be the case...
Good luck. _________________ Victor Voinea

Victor,
Thank you for all your hard work and excellent site. I have been doing research on pwd recovery for about a month now and just started to follow the steps you outlined in the previous post. I have built the driven-reader and dismantled the laptop, so the backside of the mainboard is exposed. After looking at your images of the location of the P24S08 chip for the T61, I was unable to find the it on mine.
Could you post an uncropped pic of the mainboard that shows it in relation with expansion port and/or CPU mounting bracket? If you do not have a pic, what corner of the board is it located?
Sorry I do not have pic to post, but I will work on that this weekend. Thanks!

T61 bords have two layouts, corresponding to the wide screen and the "normal" one. To my knowledge, both are using the same chip. I do not have a clear picture for the other one, but is the same chip, is gotta be there.
[Edit]
I digged up and found the picture, not well focused...I hope this helps.
