I am limited to ebay for purchasing the MAX232 chip. Do any or all of these variations work to build the interface? Which type of capacitors should I use for each?
I prefer the IN or N because the sellers live close.
Variations:
MAX232N
MAX232IN
MAX232CPE

All work. You may choose MAX232N and use 1uF (microfarad) electrolytic caps.

I'm building the interface and have MAX232CPE and 1µf capacitor am I right or I have tu use 0.1µf

MAX232CPE needs 1uF (1 micro). You may use the electrolytics, and watch out the polarity.
