Hi, Friend i am using IBM T61 laptop. The problem i am facing is that when i start my laptop it shows "Enter Password".According to me it is a BIOS Password which i dont remember now. Can any body help me whether how to reset the password or any what to do. but in easy language(Not in that Computer sciences type language).

Hello,

Lenovo T61 uses an eeprom to keep the password "safe". The eeprom is P24S08 and is a 24RF08 clone. You gotta dismantle the laptop and read the chip by using R24RF08 program trough a serial interface. The password from the eeprom dump is easily revealed with IBMpass 2.1

The only problem is with the password if is hashed with the TCPA, in which case the service will costs you $55 (TCPA reset and W24RF08 writer license).
