I am having problems with getting the circuts to read the chip. I have built the simple and driven circuts, but neither of them work. The circuts are recognized by the reading computer, but they never read the eprom.
I built the driven circut with the pictures located here, I have tried using MAX232 with 1.0uF capacitors and MAX232A with 0.1uF.
I was wondering if using a universal laptop power brick (from radioshack) could be the problem. The laptop sticker says: 16 volts and 4.5 amps. The output on the powerbrick is DC 12-24V 4.5A/80W. I set the voltage on the brick to 16 and it works just fine. Is it possible that not enough power is reaching the eprom, not allowing the circuts to read it?
I have tried reading the eprom with 4 different computers, but the software still doesn't read it.
Some help would be appreciated. Thank you. |

If the laptop worked out with the power adapter then there's no problem.
The problem seems to be the circuit and/or inproper software usage.
99% is the circuit.
Some pictures of your setup would be needed to tell you what's wrong there, including the eeprom and COM1 connections. |

Ok, I am working on getting a digital camera to take pictures. In the mean time is there anywhere I can purchase the circut? I will have the pictures up in a few days |
