Hi, Im new to this and have a Toshiba A3X which has a bios lock on it... Í've bought a AVR ISP serial programmer from Jaycar in New Zealand and would like to know how to read the eprom chip, and hopefully read the rom and either find the password or maybe reload the rom... have ponyprog loaded - but dont know where the chip is located.. have taken som pics of both front and back of the motherboard..

With AVR ISP you cannot read eeproms. AVR ISP is just for Atmel ATmega, ATtiny...just mcu.

cheers for that.... thought that might be the case after learning more... can you recommend a programmer? maybe on ebay with the 3 wire interface or do you hook that up yourself?

Cheers
