Dear Bob and Victor,

I followed your instruccions to recover the password from my TP X41 (chip P24S08), using the simple circuit.
I was able to get the .bin file, but when I opened with the IBMpass 2.0 in line 330 appears only spaces with 2JF in between, whereas in line 0x340 2JF appears at the beginning followed by spaces.
However 2JF is not the bios password.
What can I do
Could you please help me?

thanks for your help

Janeth

Turn on the translation mode using the <AA> button. The password is between 0x338 - 0x33E.

If you can't see an inteligible word there, then it is a TCPA encryption.

Thanks,

I have done what you suggested, but I could not get anything. Even I have no lines 0x338 and 0x33E, I also tried in alternate mode.
It seems that it is TCPA encrypted.

You think it will be possible for you to decipher the password from the TCPA encription?
I could pay right now for that

Many thanks

Janeth

TCPA (passphrased) passwords cannot be recovered. But the laptop can be unlocked by modifying the content and adjusting the sums in the dump, then programming the eeprom.

What you need:
W24RF08 license = $30
TCPA reset service = $25

Simply download the W24RF08, install and see the payment details in register.rtf

X41s have PCA 24S08 which is almost exaclty like 24RF08.
You may use R24RF08 and IBMpass 2.1 lite, just follow the normal procedure.

Cheers

Hi, dear Victor& Bob!
At me similar with esteban a problem. I have received successfully dump of 24S08 , but contents of a file is 0H. If encryption is TCPA? Where to send a dump-file , that you have precisely told you can-whether solve problems. If the answer will be - yes, I shall transfer money.

Thanks.
