The password is the drive password or the POP, because it is clear that the BIOS SVP is not set.
POP- remove the CMOS battery for a few seconds, HDP - replace the drive.

When you pull the CMOS battery, it must also be unplugged from A/C and have main battery removed

Hi William,

There is a way to unlock the HD but the software is too expensive just for one drive. But many workshops around the world use our software by now, if you would email us your location maybe one of them could help you.

The pwd logos are explained here:

I also have the same problem and have been trying for 2 months to solve. I remove all power, CMOS battery, power batetry and mains. I have tried reading the EEPROM but the dump file comes back empty. I have replaced the HD but still it says my system has been tempered with and wants a password.

As far as I understand williamdangaustralia succesfully dumped the laptop's eeprom, but he didn't have a SVP afterall.

@kandi: An eeprom dump can't be empty. You just didn't read correctly, the circuit or the wires are connected wrong.
It is clear that your laptop is having a supervisor password and that is in the 24RF08. You have to read the eeprom for good, it is the only way to unlock the TP

I used "r24rf08 dump.bin /x /d /i" this seems to be the one that reads the EEPROM unless you know of any others I can try. I am using an 24RF08 powered reader (as several ones I made didn't work so I bought it from the States) so all I do is solder 3 wires to the EEPROM and they seem to be correct. The Dump file is full of Zeroes.

We can;t help you by just talking, we need to see pictures and to know how you connect to the eeprom, to the COM port etc.

The programmer must respect the schematic, I don't know what you have there, but definitelly is not working.

Email the pictures to support_at_allservice.ro

y or n. I sel y and get another 1024 dump. Still can not find file dump.
this is from TP X41 using T30 as Tech PC. I'm running IBM Pass 2;0 Lite
with Win7. I have tried DOS I see the EEPROM dumping data but cannot find where it went(the dump.bin file. I have followed all this good info

If you run the command in console and you're not in the same folder with the reader, then the dump will be saved in the current folder where you are at the run-time, not in the program's folder.

A quick fix is to add the path to the file name
Code:
c:\ALLService\24RF08\R24RF08 c:\dump.bin
Dump will be saved in root directory of drive C:

Well done.

Install IBMpass from here www.allservice.ro/store/utils/
Double click the file to open it in IBMpass, click the AA button (ON), then goto 0x330 line and there's the pass in clear text.

If there's no password, email us the dump to take a look. support-at-allservice.ro

Best wishes
