I have the parts needed to build the SIPROG interface, but I am not that good at reading electrical diagrams, and I don't want to do it wrong (risking the EEPROM's CRC is not on my agenda). Could somebody provide me a picture of the built interface to reference? Also, is there anyway to make sure that the interface is properly working before I connect it to my IBM??

BTW I am trying to access a 24RF08 EEPROM on a Thinkpad A31, type 2652 if that information is needed.

Can anybody recommend weather to use the R24RF08 DOS software or the IBMpass 2.0 lite to retreive my EEPROM's information?

R24RF08 is the eerpom reader and is a Windows program not DOS. IBMpass is the scancode editor used to reveal the password. You need both of them.
Also the reader will test the interface and will give you the error messages prior reading if there is any problem.
If you use SIPROG then be sure the diodes are 5.1 V zeners and properly connected (cathode is marked on diode with a strip).

Sorry, I didn't notice that it was a windows32 console. I was also under the impression that IBMpass 2.0 would read the eeprom image and retreive the password from that image. I was wrong.

Will the reader only test the interface when you run it and tell it to create the eeprom dump? Also will it test the interface before I connect the GND, SCL and SDA? I don't want to connect the interface to the eeprom unless I am certain that the interface is working properly. (Maybe if you release a new version of the R24RF08, you might consider adding a command line switch only for diagnostics of the interface.)

I think I have the right parts, they are:

-Zener Diode 5.1V, 49mA current, and 1.0W max power dissipation
-2.2k-Ohm Resistors, 1/4 watt, 5% tolerance
-2.2k-Ohm Resistors, 1/2 watt, 5% tolerance

I am unclear as to which resistor to use, 1/4 watt or 1/2 watt.

victor told me for the resistor its take 0.25 watts look like its 1/4 watts

Ok, I think I figured it out, thank you for the help satbell. Now just to take it apart and solder those 3 wires.

Well either I built the interface wrong or I didn't solder the wires correctly. Unfortunatly the interface couldn't read the eprom, but I didn't short out or damage the eprom either. I don't know what further steps to take. Can somebody help me out?

I think I need a picture of the built interface. If I did build the interface correctly, what would the software say?

You have to remove the keyboard, the bezel and palmrest.
