I just bought these
2x BZX55C5V1 DO-35 5.1V
2x Resistor 2,2 kohm 0.25W
1x D-SUB 9 pol female
But when i opened my Thinkpad R400, the actual chip is super tiny, how do people solder to these? there seem to be transistors real close to the chip legs, im worried i'll burn them. not to mention the risk of burning the actual atmel chip :\ my solder tip isn't very small(needle size that is). |

Hello,
Is really not necessary to solder if you're not used to it. Instead of that, you may use 2 sewing needles for SDA and SCL probes. The GND can be tied to VGA connector's screwholders.
Of course, you must find a way to run the software while keeping your hands busy with the probes, I usually keep them with one hand and manipulate my laptop keyboard with the other hand, or I insert timers. _________________ Victor Voinea
