The generator was free with (no mandatory) accepted donations for 4 years. We came to the conclusion that this was a huge mistake cause, during this period, the donations were almost ZERO! Moreover, we have found some service centers providing a paid service to their customers and using our online free generators. Well, if someone wants to pay then why not pay the authors.
That's being said, we're sorry but anyone now must pay a fee for the service, however a small one.

Hi Everyone,

I found this site through google, and i'm pretty much at the end of all of my options so I figured it wouldn't hurt to try.

I bought an Acer Aspire 5517 from my local classifieds yesterday.

This thing looks like it has been through hell and back, but I don't mind that if I can get it to work.

The first thing I ran into was the BIOS being locked. I used to work as a PC Tech so I remembered that I had to short the jumper.

This worked for the BIOS, but now I am on a different problem.

The joker who sold it to me didn't mention the HDD was locked.

It is a Toshiba 160GB Hard Drive, I have absolutely no idea where to go from here. I have read that simply replacing the hard drive will not fix the problem. I have also read that after entering the wrong password 3 times, you would get an 8 digit hash key that could be used to unlock the hard drive. Well this worked for me, I do have an 8 digit hash key, but I have scoured the internet for about 3 hours now looking for something to do with it.

My key is 86655234

Any help would be greatly apprecciated

you get that code in a blue box with this message:
"Enter Unlock Password (Key: removed)?"

try with 39733810. Sometimes it takes the generated password and then it gives you a different KEY for which another password need's to be generated until it get's unlocked, last time had to do it about 4-5 times.

Do you think it would work for an Aspire 1410?

I put in the HD password for a friend. Try it once and it worked just fine. Turned it off and gave it to him. He called my the next day telling me that he could not unlock it. I don't know if he tried the wrong thing too many times and got locked but I know what I typed in and it does not work anymore.

We tried everything we could think of. His key comes up as 76119168. Can you please help?

Does that mean that one should not bother put an HD password on an Acer? If you have the code cracker, other people have it as well, correct?

That's correct, the password generated with the KEY works as a backdoor.
